The cross-timeline isolation feature is the rare differentiator most reviewers gloss past. A user runs three "timelines" with the same character (one married, one a fresh meeting, one on an adventure quest) and the AI keeps the contexts separate without bleed. Is EmotionSync video the best in our 9-app test?

EmotionSync is a real differentiator. Practical effect: most users limit voice-call usage to short bursts rather than extended conversations, which matches the persona use-case the platform is designed for. The voice quality itself is solid; reviewers cite "audible breath, natural inflection" as the texture, which is closer to ElevenLabs commercial-grade output than to early TTS.

Customization runs through a one-time character setup at first chat, with no live sliders for real-time persona adjustment. A few honesty caveats sit alongside the strong-on-paper posture.

The 2257 exemption is a claim, not a settled position. The argument, that 18 USC 2257 record-keeping requirements applicable to "actual sexually explicit conduct" by real performers don't apply to AI-only synthetic content, is plausible [Source: 18 USC 2257 Record keeping requirements (Cornell LII) · verified 2026-05-26]. Direct Delaware corporate-registry verification is pending. We won't publish the company's address as a verified fact until that confirmation lands; for now we only state the company name.

Privacy claims about "100% offline" / "local encryption" / "on-device processing" are NOT Secrets.ai's claims. They belong to a separate product, secretai.io, a fully on-device LLM chat app from Secret AI L.L.C. running Llama 4 / Gemma 3n locally. Two reviewers (mariavibe.com and spiced-ai.com) propagate the conflation, treating secretai.io's privacy architecture as if it were Secrets.ai's. It isn't. This is the transparency point our top-ranked defenders all miss. The mismatch surfaces directly in the App Store and Google Play developer metadata, viewable in 30 seconds. Secret Labs Inc. (operator of secrets.ai) does not publish a native iOS or Android app under its own developer name. Secret AI L.L.C. (operator of secretai.io) publishes the Secret AI app, a different product. Multiple AI girlfriend reviewers conflate the two; the confusion produces two recurring factual errors in third-party content:

1. The "fully offline / local encryption / on-device processing" privacy claim belongs to secretai.io (which is architecturally consistent with on-device LLM execution) and does NOT apply to Secrets.ai (which is a server-rendered web product). 2. If you want Secrets on your phone, use the responsive web product via your phone's browser. Don't install the Secret AI / secretai.io apps thinking they're Secrets apps. They aren't.

The bank descriptor situation is its own disclosure. Charges from Secrets appear on cardholder statements as either Sun Clinical Laboratories (a real, unrelated medical lab in El Monte, California, founded 1982, used here as a discreet third-party DBA via a payment intermediary, not the parent company) or S Labs Inc (the natural 16-character truncation of Secret Labs Inc). Apple Pay is supported. The DBA pattern is consistent with the adult-industry merchant habit of using a third-party white-label processor to keep "Secrets" off cardholder statements. 2. Web-only, no native mobile app. As of May 2026, the App Store and Google Play return zero Secret Labs Inc. apps. The site is mobile-responsive in the browser and supports Apple Pay, but if your workflow requires a native app (push notifications for messages, native voice integration, offline draft composition) Secrets doesn't ship that. The Secret AI apps in the stores are an unrelated product and we never recommend installing them as Secrets apps.

3. Character library is shallower than the field leaders. The pre-built character roster is 90+ characters with low ethnic and body-type diversity per multiple reviewers. A fourth transparency note that no other Secrets ai review surfaces: the self-claimed "9.6/10 independent rating" repeated across the platform's own blog, the secrets-ai.eu/.org/.info domains, and at least two reviewers (mariavibe + companionguide) never names the publication that supposedly produced the rating. It's a citogenesis pattern: the figure circulates but its origin is never auditable. We don't cite "9.6/10" anywhere here and recommend readers do the same.

Verdict: should you subscribe to Secrets.ai?

I'd pick Secrets.ai in 2026 if memory editability is the deciding factor for your use case.
