Xeve AI Review 2026: 6.7/10, the Live Video Is Clips
Xeve AI review 2026: 6.7/10. Six characters filmed with real models, a free start, and a $7.09 a month plan billed as one charge of about $85.
A note from the editor: bestgirlfriend.ai is paid a commission when a reader who arrives through this page buys from Xeve. Xeve's public affiliate page puts that at 40 percent of the purchase, and none of the eight scores below was moved by it. I opened an account on credits Xeve supplied for testing and tried the app, as one trial and not weeks of use, and the score is built on Xeve's own pages and on the tests other people have published. The rest is in our affiliate disclosure.

Is Xeve AI worth it?
Xeve is worth trying if you want video chat and accept footage recorded in advance, and the free tier lets you try some of the live interaction first. bestgirlfriend.ai scores Xeve 6.7 out of 10. Xeve's strengths are a named German operator and published prices. Xeve's weak spots are images, which an outside review faults, and a declared age check.
I went looking for one word, and this Xeve AI review starts there. Xeve's navigation sells "Live AI Video Chat". Then I opened the plain-text reference Xeve writes for AI assistants. Of its filmed characters, that file says nothing is streamed live. Same company, same domain, two answers. After that I read four more of Xeve's pages on the same question. The page for the filmed characters, the terms and the blog each describe footage made in advance, and the help page on video chat redefines the word.
That gap is the most useful thing I can tell you about Xeve. Xeve explains the mechanism openly once you read past the homepage. Most apps in this space wouldn't bother.
What is Xeve AI, and who runs it?
Xeve, also written Xeve AI and found at xeve.ai, is an adult AI companion that runs in a web browser, with no native app. Xeve is operated by Jay Web Development & Services, a business in Olching, Germany, that publishes a German VAT number. Xeve's legal notice gives no legal form, no named person and no company register entry.
Look, a German imprint is a real advantage here, and I don't want to undersell it. Xeve's legal notice, terms, privacy policy and complaints page all name the same operator at the same address [Source: Xeve legal notice, service provider and VAT identification number]. You know who to write to (not a given in this category).
The notice leaves things out, too. There's no GmbH or UG after the name, no managing director, no register number. That reads like a sole trader. A web search turned up no register entry or directory listing for the business under that name, and I didn't query the German commercial register myself. The About page says Xeve is "operated from Germany" and names nobody.
Xeve's domain went live in August 2024 under a different brand name, with a different company printed on the page at the same street in Olching. Xeve's current pages don't mention that earlier name, and nothing public explains the handover.
Then there's the review site. The team behind Xeve also publishes a site that reviews and ranks AI girlfriend apps, and that site's editorial policy says in plain words that Xeve is its own product, built by the same team, and that it gives Xeve no rating. Its footer prints the same operator name as Xeve's imprint. The disclosure is there, and I'd rather have it than not. Just know that when a ranking of Xeve's competitors sends you toward Xeve, the ranker and the product share an owner. Xeve's blog runs comparison pages too. One of them calls Xeve "the clear winner" for anyone who wants live video chat and unfiltered role-play, and sends text-first readers to the rival.
Is Xeve's live video chat actually live?
Xeve's video chat isn't live: the chat is interactive, and the footage is recorded in advance. Xeve's page on its filmed characters says the clips are recorded ahead of time and that the chat only decides which clip plays next. The reply text and the voice on Xeve come from AI, including for characters filmed with real models.
Here's how Xeve describes it, in its own words, on the page for its filmed characters: the clips are recorded in advance, and what is decided while you chat is which clip plays next and what she says [Source: Xeve, Most Realistic AI Girlfriend: Filmed With Real Models]. Xeve's terms put it more bluntly. The actions of the models are "pre-defined by the video material and hard coded".
Xeve's help page on video chat defends the word. It says "live" refers to the loop where the character reacts to what you do, and its blog boils that down to one line: the reaction is live, the rendering isn't. I think that's a fair description of the product and an unfair use of the word. If you picture a camera pointed at someone, or a video generated as you type, that isn't what Xeve does.
On the experience itself, reviewers who've used the video chat describe lip sync and gestures that follow what you do, and users on a public review platform say it works well in real time, which is the reaction loop Xeve describes. One reviewer who paid for a quarterly plan and spent two weeks on video calls reports lag that breaks the lip sync. That's one reviewer, so I treat it as something to watch for and not as a flaw every session has.
Six characters are filmed with real adult models. Xeve's homepage names them and says their videos were recorded with real models while "what they say and their voices come from AI". Xeve states that each woman agreed in writing to her footage being used for the character, and that she never reads or answers a message. I believe the second part. The first part is a statement by Xeve, with no contract, no age-of-performer record and no equivalent of the usual adult-industry record-keeping notice published anywhere I looked. I'm reporting that as a gap in the paperwork.
The rest of the cast is AI-generated. I counted 21 characters on Xeve's homepage (the six filmed ones included). Their profile pages list them between 21 and 42 years old, each marked as a fictional adult character. Xeve publishes no total. Its own girlfriends page shows six names and says they're "just the start".

How much does Xeve AI cost?
Xeve costs $12.99 a month, $8.99 a month on the quarterly plan and $7.09 a month on the yearly plan. Xeve bills the quarterly and yearly plans in one payment, so the yearly plan is a single charge of about $85. Xeve sells image and video generation separately, in credits.
Xeve publishes its prices on a help page anyone can open [Source: Xeve help centre, memberships versus credits]. That sounds like the bare minimum, and for an AI girlfriend app it isn't.
| Plan | Advertised | Works out to | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $12.99/mo | $12.99 | Renews every month when paid by card |
| Quarterly | $8.99/mo | $26.97 | One payment per quarter |
| Yearly | $7.09/mo | about $85 | The price on the homepage banner, paid in one go |
| Credit pack, 500 credits | $22.99 | $22.99 | 5 credits per image, from 20 per generated video. Smaller packs start at $4.99 |
The homepage banner reads "From $7.09 per month with yearly billing". Accurate, and easy to misread at midnight. You're committing about $85 that day.
Credits are the second budget line. A membership covers chat and video chat. In Xeve's current example an image costs 5 credits and a generated video 20, with longer videos costing more, so the $22.99 pack buys roughly 100 images or 25 videos. That works out at about 23 cents an image and 92 cents a short video. Xeve's terms add something its pricing page leaves out: credits expire one year after purchase and can't be refunded. Each plan also includes a fixed credit allowance per period, and Xeve doesn't publish how many.
Xeve's contact page says a card charge shows the operator's name and its payment processor on your bank statement, with the site name at the end [Source: Xeve contact page, billing descriptor]. Xeve's card subscriptions renew automatically, while payments by regional method, voucher or crypto are one-time and never renew.
Is Xeve AI free?
Partly. The terms say the basic service is free, and the help pages say some live interaction can be explored without paying. Xeve doesn't publish where the free tier ends: no message count or minute count appears on any public page I read. Reviewers give different caps (one says five free messages, another a free slice of the live chat), and no Xeve page confirms either. Xeve's terms also mention one-time payments for 30, 90 or 365 days of access, a lifetime membership and per-character subscriptions, with no prices attached. For apps where free is the whole point, see our scored list of free AI girlfriend apps.
Xeve's marketing pages are looser than its help pages. Its girlfriends page answers a question about free chat with "completely free with no hidden charges", on a site that sells $12.99 plans and credit packs. Its blog calls Xeve "completely uncensored", while its privacy policy says an automated moderation model checks every conversation.
Can you cancel Xeve AI and get a refund?
Cancelling Xeve is self-service from the membership page, and access runs until the end of the paid period. Xeve doesn't refund or prorate unused time, and Xeve's one-time payments and credits are non-refundable. Buyers in the European Union keep a 14-day right of withdrawal from Xeve.
The cancel path is short:
- Open My Membership.
- Go to Membership Details.
- Press Cancel Membership.
Xeve may show a retention offer on the way out, and its help page tells you which button to press if you don't want it: "Cancel anyway" [Source: Xeve help centre, refunds and cancellation]. I like that a help page admits the retention screen exists.
Money back is another matter. Unused time isn't refunded, and neither are one-time payments or credits. Exceptional cases get looked at one by one, with no deadline promised. If you're in the EU you have the statutory 14 days, and Xeve says a "Withdraw contract" button appears in the footer for eligible customers during that window. A chargeback is grounds for closing your account under the terms, so use the button first.
What does Xeve AI actually do?
Xeve offers video chat with filmed and AI-generated characters, text chat with a promised long-term memory, voice replies, a character creator, and paid image and video generation. Xeve's character creator runs on six questions. Xeve charges 5 credits per image and from 20 per generated video. Reviewers name the video chat as the draw, and one faults the images.
Video chat is the product, and it has its own section above. For generated video, as opposed to video chat, see the AI video tools we cover.
Xeve names the companies that generate its chat replies and promises long-term memory with no number attached. The outside review that scores Xeve 8.5, and whose reviewers use the paid tier of every app it lists, calls the chat Xeve's strongest point: good writing, a personality that holds over a long session, no message cap. That review is one of the two on Xeve's partners page, so it counts as one voice. Two directory and list entries also say chat is unlimited on a paid plan, and a third says text chat uses no credits. Memory is the soft spot. No outside review measures it, Xeve gives no limit, and the reviewer who documents a purchase tells readers who want long-term memory and slow-burn stories to look elsewhere.
Xeve also names its voice provider and says it never receives or stores your microphone audio. No audio-only call is documented, and the one outside review that judges how the voice sounds calls it synthetic.
You can build your own character. The creator asks six questions and covers look, personality, voice and relationship style. Past a limit Xeve doesn't publish, making more characters needs an active plan. Reviewers lean against its depth: two call the customization limited, one calls it deep.
Images are where I'd keep expectations low. Each one costs 5 credits, Xeve steers you toward preset choices, and the same 8.5 review still lists weak image quality among its faults, describes image generations that went wrong and reports nudity on a prompt that wasn't explicit. The same review says generated clips showed a different face from the character. Xeve's video generator works from preset templates as well: clips of 5 or 10 seconds, four camera options (static, slow pan, slow zoom, orbit) and five styles, from 20 credits for a 5-second clip, with the 10-second length costing more.
Is Xeve AI safe to use?
Xeve is safer than most apps in its category on two points: Xeve accepts no photo or video uploads, and Xeve names the companies that process your chats. Xeve's weak points are an age check that is a declaration for most visitors and the absence of a named data protection officer.
No uploads, so nobody can feed in a real person's photo
You can't upload a picture to Xeve. Xeve's documentation says the service accepts no uploads, and I found no upload field in the page code Xeve serves for generation. Undressing or face-swapping a photo of a real person is the worst thing this category does, and Xeve leaves it nothing to work with. Characters come from Xeve's own material. Our general guide, are AI companions safe, is the companion piece to this section.
What the privacy policy says
The privacy policy is specific, which I count in Xeve's favour [Source: Xeve privacy policy]. Xeve stores chats in the EU. Two US companies generate the replies and receive the recent part of the conversation, the character description and your first name if you set one. Another provider scores a random sample of chats with no account data attached. Xeve says it doesn't train AI models on your conversations, and that chat sessions are deleted twelve months after their last activity. Analytics and ad tracking wait for your consent in the EU and the UK. Elsewhere they can start on their own.
Xeve names no data protection officer and promises encryption in transit only. When you buy with ad measurement switched on, Xeve reports the purchase to an ad platform with a hashed version of your email. Refuse the cookies, or send a Global Privacy Control signal, and nothing goes out. And blocked attempts at prohibited content are logged with your account email and kept even after you delete the account.
For most visitors, the age check is a declaration
I'd push Xeve hardest on age. The site is explicit, and for most visitors the gate is a statement that you're over 18. An identity check with ID and selfie exists, run by an outside provider, and Xeve's help page says it's requested when a payment provider requires it or when the law does [Source: Xeve help centre, age verification and identity checks]. Otherwise it's your word, on a button that says "I am over 18". The page code Xeve serves names Germany, the United Kingdom and France next to a screen that asks for an identity check first, which suggests visitors there get the stricter path.
On content rules Xeve reads better. Its complaints page says it aims to assess a complete illegal-content report in its priority categories within 24 hours and to remove what it confirms [Source: Xeve complaints procedure], and the contact page names an external youth-protection officer. The generator limits ages to adult ranges, and the lowest is 20 to 25.
What do other Xeve AI reviews say?
Seven scored reviews of Xeve on other sites average 8.2 out of 10, with a low of 6.9 and a high of 9.0. bestgirlfriend.ai scores Xeve 6.7. Most of the gap is method: bestgirlfriend.ai counts the weak images, the declared age check and the yearly billing against Xeve, and four of the seven describe no test.
I read eight pages about Xeve on other sites. Seven print a score: four out of ten, and three out of five that I doubled. Three of the seven are full reviews, and the other four are directory or list entries. One prints a number with no scale, so I left it out. On a ten-point scale the seven run from 6.9 to 9.0, the median is 8.4, and I'd treat that average with some suspicion, for a reason you can check yourself: on five of the seven, the button that takes you to Xeve carries a tracking code or a redirect. Two of them are listed on Xeve's own partners page.
So does ours. Xeve pays 40 percent of what a referred customer spends, for as long as they stay [Source: Xeve affiliate programme page]. Lifetime revenue shares of that size are common among AI companion apps, and they're a good reason to read any review average with care. The reviewer who documents the purchase in most detail, a quarterly plan and two weeks of video calls, gave the lowest score of the seven, 6.9, and reported lag that breaks the lip sync. That review is also the one whose buttons go to Xeve's plain address, with no tracking. Another site says its reviewers use the paid tier of every app it lists: it gives Xeve 8.5 and still calls the image quality poor. The 9.0 is a 4.5 out of 5 on a directory listing with no test described.
On a public review platform, Xeve's weighted score is 4.2 out of 5 from 13 reviews, none below four stars. Thirteen is too few to mean much. What the other reviews agree on is useful, though: video chat is the reason to come, there's no mobile app, and images and videos cost credits beyond the plan.
Who should sign up for Xeve AI, and who shouldn't?
Sign up for Xeve if you want video chat with a character, a German operator you can identify, and prices you can read before paying. Skip Xeve if you expect video generated in real time, which Xeve says it doesn't do, or if you're paying for image quality, which an outside review lists as Xeve's weak spot.
Xeve fits you if video is the point. You want a character who reacts on screen, you like knowing which German business takes your card, and you'd rather read the price on a help page than find it at checkout. The filmed characters add something the fully generated apps don't: a real person on screen with an AI doing the talking. Some people will find that more appealing than a generated face. Some will find it stranger. If you'd rather have a real creator than an AI doing the talking, our comparison of real creators and AI girlfriends covers that choice.
Xeve fits badly if you want video rendered as you type, images you can rely on first time, a native app, or a gate that checks ID before it lets you in.
| App | Score | Pick it for |
|---|---|---|
| FlirtCam | 6.4 | A real-time AI webcam |
| Joi | 6.7 | Generated video, outside the United Kingdom |
| Candy.ai | 8.4 | Image generation |
Try the free tier, then a single month at $12.99. The yearly plan is the cheap one, and it's also $85 on a product whose free tier has no published limit, so find the ceiling yourself before you commit. Buy credits in small packs: they expire after a year.
If the filmed characters are what drew you, go in knowing what you're watching: recorded footage of a real woman, with AI doing the talking. Would I pay for it? For one month on the monthly plan, yes. Not $85 up front.
If recorded clips put you off, a few other reviews are worth your time. FlirtCam is built around a real-time AI webcam. Joi is my pick for generated video outside the United Kingdom. aiAllure announces clips of up to 120 seconds at a higher price, and it accepts photo uploads, which Xeve doesn't. For a companion who generates anything on request, read Candy.ai, the app at the top of our ranking.
Final scorecard
Video is the highest score in this Xeve AI review, 7.5, because reviewers who've used Xeve agree the video chat is the reason to come. Images are the lowest, 5.5: Xeve steers you to preset choices, and the outside review that scores Xeve 8.5 still lists weak image quality. Price, privacy and conversation sit at 7.0, held up by published prices, a named operator and a chat that the same 8.5 review calls Xeve's strongest point. Weaker memory, lag in video calls and a synthetic voice each come from a single reviewer, so they move the score less than what Xeve prints about itself.
Xeve is an operator you can identify, with honest help pages, selling a clever video product under a word, live, that promises more than it does.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Xeve AI cost?
Xeve costs $12.99 a month, $8.99 a month on the quarterly plan or $7.09 a month on the yearly plan. The quarterly and yearly prices are billed in one payment, so the yearly plan is a single charge of about $85. Xeve charges images and generated videos separately in credits: 5 credits per image and 20 per video in Xeve's current example, with longer videos costing more, and a $22.99 pack holds 500 credits. Xeve credits expire one year after purchase.
Is Xeve AI free?
Xeve has a free tier, and Xeve doesn't publish its limits. Xeve's terms say the basic service is free, and its help pages say some live interaction can be explored without paying. No message count, minute count or daily cap appears on any public page bestgirlfriend.ai read. Expect longer sessions, wider action sets and media generation to sit behind a plan or credits.
Is Xeve's video chat really live?
Xeve's video chat is interactive, and the video itself is recorded in advance. Xeve says so on its own pages: the clips are produced ahead of time, and what gets decided during the chat is which clip plays next and what the character says. For the six Xeve characters filmed with real adult models, Xeve says the model never reads or answers a message. The words and the voice on Xeve come from AI.
Is Xeve AI safe and legit?
Mostly yes. Xeve has a named operator you can write to: Jay Web Development & Services in Olching, Germany, with a published VAT number. Xeve accepts no photo or video uploads, lists the companies that process your chats, and deletes chat sessions twelve months after their last activity. The weak points: no data protection officer is named, and for most visitors the age check is a declaration, with an ID check only when a payment provider or the law requires one.
Can I cancel Xeve AI and get a refund?
Cancelling Xeve is self-service from the membership page, and access runs to the end of the period you paid for. Refunds are narrow: Xeve doesn't refund or prorate unused time, and one-time payments and credits are non-refundable. Buyers in the European Union keep a 14-day right of withdrawal, which Xeve handles through a withdrawal button or by email.
Does Xeve AI have an app?
Xeve has no native app. Xeve runs in a desktop or mobile web browser, and the Xeve site ships in 14 language versions.
Is Xeve AI uncensored?
Xeve allows explicit adult content, and Xeve's blog calls it completely uncensored, but Xeve's privacy policy says an automated moderation model checks every conversation. Xeve logs blocked attempts at prohibited content with the account email. Xeve limits its image generator to adult age ranges starting at 20 to 25 and accepts no uploaded photos.
What are the best Xeve AI alternatives?
FlirtCam is the closest alternative to Xeve on bestgirlfriend.ai's ranked list, because it is also a video-first app. FlirtCam is built around a real-time AI webcam, where Xeve plays clips recorded in advance, and it scores 6.4 out of 10. Joi scores 6.7 and is the pick for generated video outside the United Kingdom. Candy.ai leads the list at 8.4 and is the one to read if image generation matters more to you than video chat.
